Children's Hospital Central California is celebrating a special honor that recognizes its energy efficiency.

According to energy star the hospital operates more efficiently than 93% of all U.S. hospitals. Children's began the process of obtaining energy star certification back in 2005.

Since then, it's reduced its carbon footprint by nearly 3500 metric tons of carbon dioxide, which is equivalent to removing 674 cars from California's roads.
