Valley Wine Growers Harvesting More than Grapes

2012 is a high-yield year. New wineries are cropping up in bunches.

The large amount of grapes being harvested mean big bucks for growers. Quality wine grapes are sold at a premium outside of the Central Valley.

Now more people are taking a run at producing their own local vintages. Several new wineries are starting to gain notoriety.

Warm weather tends to diminish a grapes flavor, but local winemakers say they've identified a few varietals and techniques to make their wines more complex.
