The valley's top police and prosecutors want to keep the death penalty.

They met in downtown Fresno Wednesday and are asking people to vote NO on Prop 34. It would abolish the death penalty in California and replace it with life without the possibility of parole.

Right now the state has 725 people on death row. Sheriff Margaret Mims says it would put the public and law enforcement officers at risk.
