A Florida woman who was arrested Friday and charged with drunken driving while on her way to a bar with eight children in her van remained in jail Tuesday on $325,000 bond, according to public records.

Lawanda Lowery-Gale of Gainesville also is charged with eight counts of child neglect, property damage and driving with a suspended license, Alachua County Jail records state.

Lowery-Gale, 32, told police she was trying to get to a nightclub when she allegedly sideswiped another car about 9:50 p.m. Friday, according to the Gainesville Sun.
