A woman is hospitalized after being hit by a car.
The accident happened just after 7 this evening on Abby at Illinois, North of Downtown Fresno.
the driver of the vehicle was on the scene when police arrived.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she underwent surgery tonight.
Police say they have more witnesses to interview.
