A Tulsa woman is behind bars after bringing a 13-month-old baby with a fractured skull, black eye and bite marks to a hospital Saturday.

Aadrian Nickole Dickson, 20, allegedly waited hours before deciding the injured toddler needed medical attention after a savage beating that also left bruising on his back, legs and scrotum, local station KJRH reported.

X-rays taken also revealed a fractured skull, according to a police report cited by the Tulsa World. Doctors told authorities that the head injury was the result of a “purposeful strike.”

When interviewed by police, Dixon had no “plausible explanation” for the baby’s injuries, the paper reported.

Police have yet to determine Dixon’s relationship to the baby, saying only that she was his caretaker in the incident report, reported the station. Authorities charged her with child abuse and arrested her.
Dixon was booked into the Tulsa County Jail early Wednesday morning, and her bond was set at $100,000, according to the jail’s website. She is due in court Aug. 15.

Multiple attempts to contact the Tulsa Police Department went unanswered.
