Local Republicans say they were thrilled by Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin's speech at the Republican National Convention Wednesday Night.

The speech generated an emotional response from Republicans who gathered to watch. Somewhat surprisingly, Republican Holly Carter says some of the credit can be given to former Democratic Candidate, Hillary Clinton.
"I just feel like God really blessed us," she said after the speech, "In many ways, Hillary can be thanked for this, she shattered the ceiling."

Fellow Republicans Carly Hammond, an Brittney Cann also admired Palin's speech, calling it a game changer.

"I think we just one the election!" Hammond laughed, "She was not inappropriate, or offensive, she was real."

Fresno City Councilman Jerry Duncan hosted Wednesday's event. He says, while he admired Palin's speech, he does not feel it will overshadow McCain's acceptance speech Thursday Night.

"He may not be the feisty orator that Palin is," said Duncan, "but he can handle himself just fine, and I think tomorrow night, we're going to see something special from him."
