State Workers Rally Against Governor

It didn't take long for state workers to react negatively to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's State of the State address Thursday morning.

Within 2 hours of the end of his speech, around 50 state employees gathered in opposition.

The workers, all members of S.E.I.U., Service Employees International Local Union, carried signs and chanted words protesting the Governor's proposal to cut 2 days a month out the their work schedule which would in turn, cut their pay by around 10%.

This plan of shortened state employee work periods is just one of many cuts the Governor's proposal outlines to achieve a balanced state budget.

During his address, the Governor said in order to make up for California's more than 40 billion dollar budget short fall, ".. each of us has to give up something because our country is in an economic crisis and our state simply doesn't have the money."

It think its bull.... Why do state employees have to pay for the mistakes that someone else did and, or don't know how to manage more efficiently? We need to get arnold out of office, He has not fixed anything since he took office, in fact he has only made things worst.
