Saddened and shaken Wednesday night, by the terror attacks in Mumbai.

People hit the ground, as gunshots ring out on the streets of Mumbai, India, currently under siege by teams of terrorists, believed to be a group of suspected Islamic militants.

The death toll has now risen to 101, while at least another 900 have been injured in and around what's also known as India’s financial capital.

During the attack, gunmen stormed 10 sites, including the luxury Taj Mahal Hotel, taking at least 15 people hostage.

Rakesh Patel, escaped hostage: "They wanted anyone with British or American passports. If anyone had a British or American passport they wanted to know."

Troops have now moved in, hoping to restore order, but even hours after the attacks began, gunshots could still be heard.

Rama Dawar, saddened by attacks: "These kinds of terrorists should be put behind bars, no exception."

We sat down with members of the local Indian community, who were shaken and outraged by Wednesday’s terrorist attacks.

Dawar: "I felt really bad and felt I do not have the words but it was really bad."

Sukxveer Mann, who owns the Taj Mahal Restaurant in Fresno, says he considers those who have been targeted to be family.

Sukxveer Mann, saddened by attacks: "I felt so bad this morning when I turned on the TV.”

Mohinder Singh, saddened by attacks: "It's absolutely sad and very distressing."

Mohinder Singh owns the convenient store next to Taj Mahal.

He told KSEE 24 News that Wednesday’s attacks brought back memories of the July 2006 train bombings that killed more than 180 people in Mumbai.

Singh: "We are very upset because this is not only matter of Indians. It's a matter of British, European, and Americans too. We are against all terrorist groups who are doing this."
