A man was struck and killed by a big rig. The responsible driver says he didn't know he hit anyone.

It happened around 6 a.m. on Highway 99 near Traver. A car travelling Southbound stalled in the right lane.

The driver got out of his car. As he was standing in the right lane, he was hit and killed by a passing big rig.

The driver of the rig pulled over briefly. Then they continued south towards Bakersfield.

CHP eventually stopped the driver near Kingsburg as he was heading back north. The driver says he thought he had a blowout and was unaware anyone was hit.

CHP did not make an arrest. The District Attorney's Office is reviewing the case to decide if charges will be brought.
