A 49 year old skier was found dead on a slope at China Peak Saturday afternoon.
Fresno sheriff's deputies say the skier suffered a head injury.
He was found with a cracked helmet, and deputies say he may have hit a tree stump.
China Peak ski patrol officers were the ones that found the victim and tried to perform CPR, but it was too late.
Deputies say this is the first major accident of the year at the resort.
