A community grieves for a 7-year-old killed by a suspected drunk driver. The driver has been identified as Central East High School coach Loren Lebeau.

Donovan Maldonado was with his family biking along a crosswalk on Shepherd near Millbrook. It happened Wednesday night just after 9:00 p.m. Lebeau slammed into the father and his 18-month-old daughter who were on the same bike. The 7-year-old was pinned underneath the vehicle and dragged for more than 200 yards.

Donovan died at CRMC. Father and daughter were upgraded from serious condition to stable. Police say Lebeau failed sobriety tests given.

Lebeau faces felony drunk driving, felony hit and run, and vehicular manslaughter. He's also been placed on administrative leave.
