A father and son from Fresno County are dead. Detectives say another father and his two sons are to blame. Jose Alfredo Jimenez, 51, his son Jose Mario Jimenez, 34, and step-son Michael Ray Pranger, 18, pleaded not guilty in court, Thursday. Each faces two counts of murder. All were arrested after surrendering to deputies.

Investigators say the three shot and killed Carl Jim Oliver and Jimmy Carl Oliver Jr, on Monday.

“There was a fight, a gun was displayed, they chased somebody off the property,” explained Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Curtice.

The shooting happened in the driveway of a mobile home on South Cherry Avenue, just south of Fresno.

“We did locate an approximately 300 plants marijuana grow behind the residence that belonged to the suspects,” said Curtice.

Investigators are trying to determine if that marijuana grow was a motive in the shootings. Bail has been set at $3.5 million each for Jose Mario Jimenez and Michael Pranger. Bail was set at $3 million for their father, Jose Alfredo Jimenez.

A pre-preliminary hearing will take place on Thursday, September 20th.
