Two innocent bystanders were shot in Central Fresno last night. One of them is still fighting for her life.

The incident happened near Vassar and Glenn Avenues. Two women got into a fight on the street.

A large group of neighbors came outside to see what was going on. The boyfriend of one of the women that was fighting then allegedly fired his shotgun into the crowd.

Two women that were not involved in the fight were hit. Neomi Ramirez, who is a mother of ten children, and 18-year-old Nicole James, who is listed in critical condition.

Chief Jerry Dyer says the suspect, Tony Leon, is a known gang member that should never be allowed on the streets. Leon was arrested earlier this week on a no-bail drug warrant, but he was released due to prison overcrowding.

Another man, Joshua Woodworth, was also arrested at the scene. Police say he helped Leon hide the gun, which was subsequently recovered. Both men are expected to be arraigned on Friday.
