Donovan Maldonado, 7, was killed last night while riding his bike with his father and 18-month-old sister in northeast Fresno.
Thursday evening, dozens, including many children gathered in front of Liberty Elementary, where Donovan would have been a second grader this fall.
A car driven by Central East High basketball coach Loren Lebeau, 42, slammed into the family as they rode in a crosswalk at Shepard and Millbrook.
Investigators say Donovan was dragged under the car for about 200 feet before Lebeau stopped.
The little boy died at the hospital Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, his father is listed in fair condition and the little sister's condition has been down-graded from stable to critical.
