2 have been confirmed dead, and one arrested for DUI, after a horrific collision near Laton.
A third person was taken to the hospital.
CHP says the incident began with one car trying to pass traffic on Highway 43 near Cairo Ave.
A pick-up truck in the opposite lane swerved to avoid a head on collision, overturned, and took out a power pole.
The car attempting to pass then collided head-on with another car.
A third car then slammed into the back of that car.
Those three vehicles caught fire, with the survivors helping each other to safety.
CHP says Victoria Robinson was driving the car attempting to make the pass.
She suffered major injuries in the collision, but following her medical release, she faces charges of vehicular manslaughter, and DUI.
