A Fresno man is behind bars after police say he admitted to killing his father. The 81-year-old died on Friday and now his friends are speaking out.

It happened inside a home near Pontiac and Effie, in Fresno. Police found an elderly man in his 80's lying on the floor with serious injuries. Witnesses claim the man's son, 55-year-old Charles Hudiburgh lost his temper and hit his father in the head with a hammer.

Friends say Charles Hudiburgh was the primary care giver to his 81- year-old dad, Claud Hudiburgh.

Sam Caldera has known the family for forty years. He says Charles served as a Marine in the Vietnam War. He says Hudiburgh showed signs of aggression since he returned home from war.

Caldera says, "He was abusive to him. No question about that. We all knew that but now to the extent the anger would cause him to do anything like what he did. That's the thing that's unbelievable on everybody."

Hudiburgh is being held at the Fresno County Jail on one count of murder.
