Police in Mississippi have apprehended a Texas bank robber dubbed "The Handsome Guy Bandit".

Steven Ray Milam, 44, was arrested in Jackson County after a pursuit at about 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers in Mississippi said the pursuit began after officers ran the vehicle's license plate and determined the owner was a wanted man out of Texas.

The driver refused to stop so Mississippi officers shot out his tire.

Once the car rolled to a stop, officers said the driver of the car tried to consume a large amount of pills.

Officers identified the driver as Milam and notified Richardson authorities.

Milam is currently being treated for the ingestion of the pills.

Milam, identified as the "Handsome Guy Bandit" by police, is believed to have most recently robbed the Compass Bank in Richardson, Texas before firing a gun at police officers multiple times.

He was dubbed the "Handsome Guy Bandit" because of his professional, realistic-looking mask that covered his entire head.

The disguise costs about $800 and is used for special effects.

Police say they recovered a mask, gun and money in Milam's car on Saturday.

He has also been identified as the owner of a Tyler funeral business.
