A Clovis man hit the jackpot today, winning $1 million on a lottery scratcher. The lucky ticket was sold at University Market on Shaw Avenue in Clovis.
Aaron A. Is the lucky winner. He was an instant winner after scratching off a $10 ticket. It's the California Lottery's first ever $10 scratcher.
The ticket features a unique design and offers over a quarter of a billion dollars in prizes.
Sales of this scratcher weren't expected to be too high, but now that there's a $1 million winner, officials believe that will change.
University market gets a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Martin Lee sold the winning ticket. "I put it in the machine. Yeah, you win $1 million! And, are you kidding me? After that, he started getting red and shaking."
The winner, Aaron A., told officials he thought it was a joke. The California Lottery says there's still 26 instant $1 million tickets.
There's also 10.6 million available prizes with the $250 million cash spectacular ticket.
This particular ticket went on sale September 30th. 106,000 of these tickets have been sold so far winning 100,000 or more each. Seven of these tickets have won prizes of $50,000 dollars. 12 have claimed $10,000 dollar prizes.
