The city of Madera and the District broke ground on a new home Wednesday, that will be built entirely by students. It's part of a project involving students from the "Building Trades,"and "Geometry and Construction" classes. Teachers are hoping this real world experience will help in the classroom.
Madera High School teacher Santos Reyes said, "I just want them to be able to apply the concepts. Whenever they walk by, drive by look at something I want them to understand the natural shapes around in their environment."
The house is just three blocks from Madera High School.
