Police are investigating an officer involved shooting that took place in Tulare, Thursday night. It happened at an apartment complex near Cross and Blackstone, a little before 9:00 p.m.

Some witnesses believe the shooting stems from a kidnapping that happened in Porterville, earlier in the day. They say there were two men and a woman in a car. Police had to break the windows of the car to pull the woman out. The men were yelling at the officers, as officers urged them to get out of the car. The men refused. Witnesses say they then heard numerous gunshots. Some heard five, others heard 15-20 gunshots. Witnesses say it was complete silence afterward.

Police have not confirmed any of this information at this time. The investigation is still ongoing.
