All over America, the "greatest generation" was remembered. The
"date which will live in infamy," lived on for its 71st year.
Special ceremonies to mark the attack on Pearl Harbor were held across Fresno. Veterans who survived the attack were in full uniform at the VA Hospital.
They rang a bell to commemorate the Americans who lost their olives. Over 2,400 servicemen were killed at the Hawaiian base.
The Veterans Memorial Museum in downtown Fresno welcomed children on field trips to learn more about he battle. There were also men present who were in the battle.
The Japanese attack ended up being a major catalyst for getting America into World War II.
