The Sikh community is coming together after a tragic shooting in Wisconsin. Community leaders met up to express their shock and sadness over the shooting. Wisconsin Police released the shooter's name today. Wade Michael Page was a known skin-head and member of a Neo-Nazi band.
Page killed six people at a Sikh temple outside Milwaukee. Page was also killed in a gunfight with police. Valley leaders say this is an opportunity to educate people about the Sikh community. It's also a chance to pray, not only for the victims, but the shooter's family.
"You cannot kill hate with hate. The only way to end the cycle is to show compassion for the person who did this because the entire core behind this is ignorance and fear," said Manvinder Singh.
A candle light vigil to honor the victims is scheduled for Friday in Fresno.
