A man is lucky to be alive after his truck was hit by a train. Emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash involving a pickup truck and a freight train near Hayes and Belmont Tuesday morning.
Investigators say a truck was traveling southbound on Hayes, as it crossed the tracks, it was broadsided by an eastbound train.
The pickup was pushed down the tracks about 500 ft. The driver only suffered minor injuries. The dog was rushed to the hospital, and is in stable condition.
