More than 14 million people found their last job using social media.
Today the social networking giant Twitter launched another way to connect with employers. Michael Thomas has been looking for a job for months, now he's looking to social networking sites for help. He says, " There's so much communication through Twitter. Why not put that communication use towards finding a job." Millions of people like Thomas signed on to Twitter to tweet about the economy, ask for advice, and o land a job. Jesse Drucker says Twitter is one of the easiest ways to connect with a potential employee. He says Kaiser Permanente posts about 10% of it's jobs there.
Drucker says, "Coworkers will reach out to their coworkers who might be interested. There's an expanding effect of this. Something you might not find in print media or electronic media." A recent study found 80% of U.S companies recruit using social media. Another 9% percent plan to start.
