An elderly man in a wheelchair was hit and killed by a car in Orosi on Tuesday. Now a friend of the victim is speaking out, saying the accident could've been avoided.

KSEE24 obtained pictures of the accident. A man known in town as Benjamin was crossing the street near Road 128 and Miller Avenue when he was hit by a car. CHP says Julio Dominguez was arrested at the crash scene. He's been charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.

The victim's friend says they've had problems in the past at the same location. Felix Huerta says he asked CalTrans to put in a traffic light but they declined. KSEE24 put in a call to CalTrans and they said they are reviewing their records.
