Zeferino was born on January 8, 1923, in Villa Mainero, Tam- aulipas Mexico.
He migrated to the US in 1946, settling in Wes- laco, Tx. where he met Juanita, his wife of 62 years. In September 1966, they moved their family to California where he began his career of 33 years at Ballentine Produce Company in Sanger.
He is survived by his loving wife Juanita; daughters, Tina Garcia and her husband Ernesto, Vickie Munoz and her husband Richard, Dora, Raffie and Janie Leal; and son, Sonny Leal and his wife Nancy; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Victoria Leal; and his grandson, Juan Tomas Garcia.

Visitation will be held at Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home on Monday, August 6, 2012, from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m., followed by Recitation of the Rosary at St. Mary's New Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's New Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Sanger Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Sanger High School Scholarship Fund, La Beca de Zeferino y Juanita Leal, Attn: Rosie Gonzalez, 1045 Bethel Ave., Sanger, Ca. 93657.
