On Sunday night, Erik Wetzel had made a decision: he was going to return to Fresno State for his senior season.
The Colorado Rockies were able to change his mind.
On Wednesday Wetzel decided to forgo his senior season and sign on with the Rockies. Wetzel finished the 2008 season with a .969 fielding percentage, and was named to the All-NCAA Tournament team at the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
Wetzel will report to the Rockies' Class-A affiliate in Pasco, Washington on Friday.
