Tom Brandstater was named a semifinalist for the prestigious Draddy Award today. The Bulldogs' senior signal-caller was among the 164 semifinalists named today for the award, which highlights athletes who have excelled in the classroom and on the playing field.
Brandstater, who is currently enrolled as a graduate student at Fresno State, earned his Bachelor's degree in three-and-a-half years, prior to starting his junior season of eligibility.

Brandstater ranked 19th in the NCAA in passing efficiency this season and leads the WAC with eight touchdown passes, seven of which have come in the last two games.

Previous Bulldogs to win the Draddy award include placekicker Clint Stitser and safety Tyrone Culver.
