The Central Section quarterfinals were filled with upsets, none bigger than what transpired at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday night. Top-seeded and undefeated Buchanan fell to Centennial on a game-winning field goal as time expired. Centennial's 26-24 upset victory will keep them in Kern County for the semifinals next week; they will take on Liberty, who upended Central 27-21 in double overtime.

The new favorites in Division I? That would be the Bullard Knights, who broke open a close contest with Clovis West in the 3rd quarter and advanced to the semifinals with a 35-9 victory. Bullard will host Bakersfield in the semifinals next Friday.
