Boise State will remain in the Mountain West Conference instead of joining the Big East as a football-only member in 2013.
Although Boise State never spent a day in the Big East, the Broncos still must pay a $5 million exit fee.
The Mountain West Conference is expected to help with the exit fee.
With the Broncos remaining in the Mountain West, the league will have 11 football members in 2013 including Fresno State.
