Fresno State -- Fresno State junior Isaiah Burse was one of 29 players named to the 2012 Jet Award watch list, which honors the best return specialist in college football.

Burse set a new FBS records last year for the most kickoff returns in a season (75), most kickoff returns per game (5.8), kickoff return yardage in a season (1,606) and most yards returned per game (123.5). He averaged 21.4 yards per kickoff return in 2011 in addition to catching 40 passes for 436 yards and one touchdown.

The 6-0, 180-pound native of Modesto, Calif. had 2,042 all-purpose yards in 2011, a figure that was the second-highest in school history and ranked 10th nationally.

Burse was also named to the College Football Performance Awards All-Purpose Trophy watch list over the summer.

Drawing its name from former Heisman trophy winner Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers, the Jet Award will be voted on by a selection committee, featuring football writers and broadcasters from around the country, as well as Johnny Rodgers and Joe Adams, the 2011 winner of the Jet Award.

From the initial watch list, 12 semifinalists will be announced at the end of October and the list will be whittled down to four finalists in November. The winner will be chosen by a vote of the selection committee and the 2012 winner will be announced before the awards presentation in December.
