Phillip Thomas is one of 15 semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award, given annually to the top defensive back in college football.
The Fresno State senior leads the FBS with seven interceptions, three of which he's returned for touchdowns. His seven interceptions are the most by a Bulldog in 27 seasons and have tied the Mountain West Conference record for picks in a year.
Thomas has also forced three fumbles and three sacks. He is second on the team with 55 tackles.
Three finalist will be named on November 19th and the winner will be announced on December 6th.
