Rookie running back Ryan Mathews signed a five-year, $25.65 million contract with the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. $15 million is guaranteed money.
The former Bulldog was at Sunday's late-afternoon practice. He missed seven practices, including three for rookies and selected veterans last week.
Mathews, who was selected 12th overall out of Fresno State, is expected to replace Ladainian Tomlinson as the starting running back.
Mathews rushed for 3,280 yards in three seasons at Fresno State, while scoring a school-record 39 touchdowns.
