Fresno State Football Ready to Start DeRuyter Era

The bulldogs are just over 24 hours away from kicking off the Tim DeRuyter era at Fresno State. The dogs will open the college football season Saturday against Weber State.

Friday the Bulldogs put the finishing touches on their game plan with a closed practice inside bulldog stadium. The dogs are coming off a 4-9 record which was only their sixth losing season in the last 30 years. DeRuyter has promised fans a new, exciting, up-tempo brand of football. A brand of football - he is ready to unveil in front of the red wave on Saturday night.

Some fans are taking the wait and see approach to this year's football team. There has been a steady stream of fans buying tickets today. Fan support was lacking last season. The game with the biggest attendance was against Boise State and that only drew just under 34,000 fans. But a new coach and a new brand of football has some fans excited for the new season.

The bulldogs will kick off the season Saturday night against Weber State. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium.
