Greg Smith signs 3-year contract with the Houston Rockets.
The first year of the contract is guaranteed. The second is partially guaranteed with a team option for the third.
Smith was recalled from the Rockets D-League team after averaging 16.8 points and 8.3 rebounds in 18 games with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
He also made 67.7 percent of his shots which is the highest shooting percentage of any player in D-League history with more than 400 minutes.
The 6-foot-10, 250 pound center tried out with the Rockets but was cut before the start of the season in late December.
He was not selected in last June's NBA Draft after leaving Fresno State following his sophomore season.
