Josh Poytress is leaving Fresno State to chase his major league dreams.
The Junior pitcher signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates after they selected him in the 18th round of the this month's amateur draft.
Poytress was originally drafted by the Houston Astros in the 16h round out of high school but chose to play for Fresno State.
His fastball tops out at 92 miles per hour.
Poytress had his best year this season going 7 and 3 with 56 strikeouts and a 2.85 era.
