(Press Release) Assemblymember Henry T. Perea honored the Washington Union High School Football team with a resolution on the Assembly floor Monday.

“This team of young men brought home Washington Union High School’s first-ever championship with a hard fought victory,” Assemblymember Perea said. “They gave it their all last season and have earned the respect of their fellow students as well as their community of Easton.”

The Panthers brought home the 2011 state CIF Division III championship in December 2011, after a 21-16 win over Campolindo High School.

WUHS Head Coach Jeff Freitas, Athletic Director Jeff Cardoza and Principal Derek Cruz joined players Deontay Greenberry, Chris Cain and K.C. Migliore on the Assembly floor to accept the resolution.

The entire team was treated to a tour of the state Capitol following the ceremony.
