Fuego fall to Quakes, 4-1

The Fresno Fuego fell to the San Fernando Valley Quakes 4-1 on Saturday in front of 3,367 fans at Chukchansi Park.

San Fernando Valley got off to a quick start, scoring the match’s first goal in just the second minute. Ferguson Agwa gathered in a loose back on the left side, and beat Fuego goalkeeper Ryan Kenny for his second goal of the season.

Jesus Santiago pulled the Fuego even in the 13th minute. Fabricio Codeceira fed a pass to Santiago cutting down the left side, and he beat goalkeeper Kevin Guppy high for his first goal of the year.

But, the Quakes went back on top in the 23rd minute as Agwa fed Brad Russin in front, and he beat Kenny for his first goal of the season.
The Fuego play their final home match of the 2008 regular season on Thursday, hosting the Southern California Seahorses at 7:00 p.m.
