The Fresno State men's and women's basketball programs plan on bringing lots of excitement to the Savemart Center this season.

The men's team was picked to finish sixth overall in the WAC Coaches Preseason Poll. The media picked the 'Dogs to finish in 7th place. Senior forward Sylvester Seay and sophomore swingman Paul George were 2nd team All-WAC preseason selections. Fresno State is expected to improve due to the restoration of their full allotment of 13 scholarships, which were used to add talent and depth in the form of players like Stephen Shepp, Garrett Johnson, and former Edison High prep star Greg Smith.

The defending champion women's team was tabbed to defend their title by the WAC coaches, but the media saw it differently--in their poll, Louisiana Tech is first, followed by the Bulldogs. Junior shooting guard Jaleesa Ross was named to the All-WAC preseason 1st team; junior forward Hayley Munro was named 2nd team All-WAC.

The men begin their season on November 13th at the Savemart Center against San Francisco State. The women's team opens the season on the 13th at UC-Santa Barbara; their home opener takes place on November 22nd when they host St. Mary's.
