Sophomore slugger hits 3-run homer, strikes out 12 in victory

Moses leads Bulldogs to 5-0 win

Fresno State used pitching, defense, and the three-run homer to defeat Boise State 5-0 at Bulldog Diamond on Friday night.

Michelle Moses led the way for the Bulldogs, striking out 12 batters and slamming a three-run homer in the first inning. Moses leads the team with 11 homeruns on the season.

Brooke Phipps added the fourth run to the board in the second with her second home run of the season to left field.

The win moves the `Dogs to 24-12 on the season and a tie for first in the conference standings at 3-1. The loss for the Broncos drops them to 13-20 and 3-1 in the WAC. The two teams will battle for the series on Saturday in a doubleheader that begins at 1 p.m. Fresno State is 5-0 now all-time against Boise State.
