Bulldogs Ready to Swing into Action at NCAA Regionals

Fresno State will represent the WAC in the 2011 NCAA Men's Tennis Team Championships as announced by the NCAA today.

The No. 38 Bulldogs (16-8) will head to the campus of California in Berkeley, Calif., where they will face No. 19 Minnesota (19-5) in the first round at 11 a.m. (PT) Friday, May 13. The two teams met earlier in the season on Jan. 29 at the ITA Kick-Off weekend on a neutral-site match at the Los Angeles Tennis Center with the Gophers winning 4-2.

In the other half of the bracket, No. 15 California (12-7) hosts Marist (18-3). The winners of the two first-round matches will play in the second round at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 14.

The winner of each first- and second-round site advances to the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championships May 19-24 at the Taube Tennis Center in Palo Alto, Calif., hosted by Stanford.

The No. 62 Bulldogs (11-13) will head to the campus of Northwestern in Evanston, Ill., where they will face No. 20 Notre Dame (15-9) in the first round of the single-elimination tournament on Friday, May 13.

In the other half of the bracket, No. 14 Northwestern (20-7) hosts IPFW (27-3). The winner of the two first-round matches will play in the second round on Saturday, May 14.

The winner of each first- and second-round site advances to the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships May 20-24 at the Taube Tennis Center in Palo Alto, Calif., hosted by Stanford.
