The Fresno Grizzlies used a litle 'Manny Magic' to regain a a share of first place in the Pacific South Division.
Emmanuel Burriss' RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning led the Grizzlies to a 2-1 victory over Tacoma at Chukchansi Park on Wednesday night.
It was just the third win for Fresno (58-47) in 10 extra-inning affairs this season, as they snapped their three-game skid and pulled even once again with Sacramento, which lost 5-3 at home to Colorado Springs, for first place in the Pacific South Division.
Burriss slapped a ball just fair inside the bag at third that shot past the drawn-in infielders and brought Copeland home with the game-winning run.
Matt Yourkin continued in his role as Fresno’s best starter of late, tossing 7.0 innings of one-run, four-hit ball, walking two and striking out four.
He was matched by Tacoma phenom Michael Pineda, who
allowed one run and four hits.
