Fresno State safety Phillip Thomas will receive the 2012 College Football Performance Awards Defensive Back Trophy.
The award presentation for being the best defensive back in the country will take place at halftime of the Bulldog men's basketball on Wednesday night against Colorado.
Thomas led the nation during the regular season with 8 interceptions, 3 of which he returned for touchdowns.
Thomas was also named to his fifth All-America team on Monday when he was selected by ESPN.com.
