    Jose Ramirez, Avenal, won his pro boxing debut with a first round TKO of Corey Siegwarth of Denver. Ramirez appeared on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez fight in Las Vegas.

  • Phillip Thomas to Receive CFPA Defensive Back Trophy

    Fresno State safety Phillip Thomas will receive the 2012 College Football Performance Awards Defensive Back Trophy. The award presentation for being the best defensive back in the country will take place at halftime of the Bulldog men's basketball on Wednesday night against Colorado. Thomas led the nation during the regular season with 8 interceptions, 3 of which he returned for touchdowns. Thomas was also named to his fifth All-America team on Monday when he was selected by ESPN.com.

Reports out of Denver say DeRuyter might be on Colorado's list of candidates for the Buffaloes head coaching vacancy. DeRuyter said his focus is on getting his team ready to play SMU (6-6) in the December 24th Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.

  • The Bulldogs Blow Out San Diego Christian 84-49.

    The Fresno State men's basketball team beat San Diego Christian 84-49. It's the Bulldogs largest margin of victory since 2006. Fresno State had 18 steals, 1 shy of tying the school record, while forcing 27 turnovers. Allen Huddleston had a team high 13 points. Jerry Brown chipped in with 12 points and 9 rebounds as the Bulldogs improved to 5-3 overall. The Bulldogs are on the road at Washington State Sunday at noon.

    The Fresno State Bulldogs beat the USC Trojans 65-60 at the Save Mart Center. Taylor Thompson scored a game high 20 points as the Bulldogs improved to 5-0 this season at home.
