Fresno police are continuing to search for the man responsible for a shooting inside a Fresno mall. It happened Wednesday night at a barber shop in Manchester Center.

Police say the victim was a 46 year old mother who inside Colima's fade shop with her two teenage children.

"We heard pop, pop pop and we all took off running," says Manchester Center employee.

Another employee said, "There was a fight that broke out. After that one guy had run off and came back about five minutes later and shot four times."

Employees at the Manchester Center were a little on edge Thursday.

"We're still pretty much in shock really that this has happened. I know these things do happen, but when it's that close to home, it's crazy."

Wednesday night, an argument outside Colima's Fade Shop errupted into gunfire. Police say a barber there was fighting with a woman and two men. The three left, but minutes later, the men came back. One of them pulled out a gun and shot at the barber. An innocent woman in the line of fire was hit once in the back.

"She was just like screaming in pain."

The fade shop re-opened Thursday morning, but business was slow. A bullet hole in the wall is the only sign left of the shooting. For a barber at a shop next door, it's a scary reminder.

"It's not good for business first of all, but it just puts everybody in danger."

Alonso Pena frequents the mall often to pay his water and garbage bills. He says he doesn't feel unsafe, but he will be more on guard.

"More and more I think about where I'm at and I look around me to see anybody that's walking around and what they're doing," says Pena.

A security presence was obvious inside the mall thursday. Officials would not discuss safety procedures on camera, but employees are applauding Wednesday night's quick response.

"They were on the ball. I was really impressed with how fast everybody was here and everything was on lock down immediately."

Mall officials did confirm the barber who was the intended target no longer works at the shop.

Police say the victim is recovering in the hospital in stable condition.

Police are analyzing surveillance video and following strong leads, in hopes of catching the man responsible.
