A day after Fresno City officials announced they were re-opening negotiations with the SPCA, a member of the County Board of Supervisors is still fuming.
Henry Perea says he was not informed of the move. Now he says the Fresno County will have to take over their own animal control responsibilities without the city's help.
The city is working on a six-month extension with the SPCA. It's unclear what the plan is once those six-months are up. The deal is not final yet.
Meanwhile, Perea had harsh words for city leaders. He also criticized the SPCA for euthanizing too many animals and not being transparent enough.
A temporary animal control shelter is being set up in the parking lot of a vacant morgue. It should be operational by October 1st.
