Candy Cane Lane is a Visalia tradition. It's 67 years old and getting bigger every year. It's so big, people have to find a spot early.
"It's about who can get here the soonest and get the most comfortable seat."
Brice Hare definitely has the most comfortable spot, a sofa and a couple of chairs, furniture that usually sits in his upholstery shop. Monday it's front row seating for the parade.
"Me and my daughter, and some of her friends come and sit, and enjoy it. We put blankets around us and stay nice and warm."
He's not alone, main street between Bridge and Conyer, is lined with chairs and blankets, Candice Linhares is roping her spot off.
"Hopefully it'll keep people from grabbing our chairs and moving them and this will be our designated spot tonight."
Don Sharp is with the Downtown Visalian's, one of the groups, behind the parade.
"It's a big undertaking...It's not a simple one night, 3 hour parade...It's a big deal."
A big deal for kids, parents, almost every one in town. For some it's the memories, for others it's finding the perfect spot. But for Visalia, it's a tradition.
