The state of California has set a record Friday.

The state's average for a gallon of gas has never been higher.
A local supplier estimates wholesale gas prices increased 70 cents just over the last three days.

AAA's daily report shows the average price for a gallon in California is $4.49. That's also highest in the country.

Experts point to a low supply because of problems at three refineries in the state. Experts expect prices to drop thirty cents overnight Friday night.
