A new place to live opened for about 70 homeless people. Unfortunately, it's a small dent in the problem.

The "Renaissance at Santa Clara" started moving in about a dozen people Tuesday. They were selected over the course of a year, according to need.

Preston Prince with the Fresno Housing Authority says there are about 5,000 homeless people in Fresno. Still, he's excited to put a roof over some heads.

The homeless encampment outside the new facility remains unchanged. Destitute people are still visible from the windows of the new studio apartments.
